Model 1883 Reichsrevolver manufactured by V.C. Schilling & C.G. Haenel in 1886. The left side of the frame is stamped "86" (indicating the year of manufacture) followed by the serial number, as well as an oval containing the manufacturer information. Faceted barrel breech is marked "GF" before the serial number. The rear grip strap is unit marked "B.1.R(cursive).I.D.S.71.", with each letter and digit lightly lined out, and the front grip strap unit is marked "B.L(cursive).M.I.1.17.". Major metal components exhibit a blued finish, while some smaller components are in-the-white. All numbers are matching and include the frame, frame screws, safety lever & screw, trigger, loading gate, cylinder base pin, cylinder, grips, grip screw slots, as well as grip screws. CONDITION: Major metal components retain fair to good amounts of their original factory blue finish, exhibiting wear and thinning overall that shows through to a mottled gray patina, as well as moderate surface oxidation overall. In-the-white components retain a gray patina, with some age-related discoloration. Bright bore, exhibiting a few spots of inactive oxidation and retaining good rifling throughout. Grips show scattered marks from handling and storage, but are otherwise sturdy and serviceable.
