Manufactured in 1884 in 4 - 3/4" configuration with features including blue finish, small front sight, V notch rear sight, low profile ejector rod head, black powder frame, color case hardened frame and hammer, and walnut grips. Accompanied by a factory letter confirming configuration as well as shipment to E. C. Meacham Arms Company in St. Louis, Missouri, on April 21, 1885, in a shipment of 134 guns of the same type. Matching serial numbers observed on barrel, frame, trigger guard, butt, and cylinder. PROVENANCE: From the personal and advanced collection of Dr. Jim Watson of Scottsdale, Arizona. CONDITION: Very good when considering the age, with about half of the original bluing remaining with the balance worn to a gray patina. Frame is essentially a gray patina with original colors visible on hammer. Grips have finish loss at edge near butt, and no major signs of distress. Action is tight and crisp. Bore is lightly frosted with visible rifling.
