Late, circa 1873 production. Classic blued 7 - 1/2" barrel with New York address and German silver blade front sight. 6-shot cylinder rolled with a largely legible naval engagement scene. Silver plated grip straps and 1-piece varnished walnut grips. PROVENANCE: From the personal and advanced collection of Dr. Jim Watson of Scottsdale, Arizona. CONDITION: Fine. Barrel assembly retains the majority of its factory blue, fading along the sides. Cylinder has drifted to a brown patina. Strong case colors on frame, hammer, and loading lever with areas fading to gray patina. Traces of silver are retained on the grip straps, the balance a mellow mottled golden patina. Grips have been cleaned with an added coat of finish with scattered marks. Very good, strong and bright bore. Crisp mechanics. Wedge is stuck; however, externally visible numbers match. A very nice example of a fairly scarce percussion Colt.
