Late civilian production, circa 1872. Features include 8" barrel with New York address, German silver blade front sight, rebated percussion cylinder, silver plated trigger guard, steel back strap, and 1-piece varnished walnut grips. Matching numbers observed on the frame, barrel assembly, grip straps, cylinder arbor, and cylinder. Wedge is a replacement. PROVENANCE: From the personal and advanced collection of Dr. Jim Watson of Scottsdale, Arizona. CONDITION: Very good overall. Gun displays an even gray patina. A few traces of case color retained on the loading lever and wedge. Trigger guard also retains traces of silver, the balance a golden patina. Grips are fine with various impressions and some finish loss. Strong, bright bore with a few areas of oxidation. Crisp mechanics.
