Manufactured in 1944 by Walther in classic configuration, with "ac44" manufacture and date code visible on left side of slide. All serial numbers match. Mounted with serrated bakelite grips. Grips and magazine are not numbered. Accompanied by capture paperwork from the United States European Headquarters dated September 20th, 1945, listing this gun by serial number as captured and brought back with Captain Karl J. Watson, with additional certificates dated October 13th, 1945 for this gun as well as German Extraction Forceps Kit. PROVENANCE: From the personal and advanced collection of Dr. Jim Watson of Scottsdale, Arizona. CONDITION: Excellent, retaining nearly all of the original military blue finish with minor handling marks. Grips are strong with no major signs of distress. Mechanically fine. Bore is frosted with light freckling throughout and crisp rifling.
