Part of the well known line of Sharps and Hankins 4 barrel pepperbox derringers manufactured circa 1859 to 1874, this .32 RF chambered example is of the Model 4B variation. Fitted with a fluted, polished blue 2 - 1/2" barrel cluster that slides open to load. German silver half moon front sight. Classic silver plated iron frame with rosewood bird's head grips. PROVENANCE: From the personal and advanced collection of Dr. Jim Watson of Scottsdale, Arizona. CONDITION: Fine. Barrel cluster retains the majority of its original blue mixing with patina. Frame likewise retains significant portions of silver, some areas cleaned to steel with older oxidation spots. Grips have significant traces of original varnish, with some wear and light impressions. Strong, black powder abraded bores. Fine mechanics.
