Manufactured in 1858 in classic configuration with the factory addition of a carbine sight, German silver blade sight, and cut for use with shoulder stock for the United States Government. Sub-inspector marked on all major parts and marked "U.S." on frame, with inspector cartouches on both grip panels. Complete with shoulder stock serial numbered to Dragoon revolvers 16783 and 16784. PROVENANCE: From the personal and advanced collection of Dr. Jim Watson of Scottsdale, Arizona. CONDITION: Very good, as refurbished. Rammer assembly is a replacement, barrel and rammer assembly have been chemically aged to match each other. Cylinder is a replacement. Several of the inspector markings have been refreshed after refurbishment. Trigger guard has turned a pleasing mellow patina. Grips have been lightly sanded and finish added with cartouches still visible. Action is tight and crisp. Bore is frosted with visible rifling. Stock has been heavily cleaned and is missing the tightening nut, but is overall in very good condition with no major signs of distress.
