Circa 1871. Classic configuration with blued 8" barrel, New York address, German silver blade front sight, 6-shot rebated cylinder roll marked with the naval engagement scene, silver plated trigger guard, steel backstrap, and 1-piece ivory grips. Matching numbers observed throughout, wedge unnumbered. PROVENANCE: From the personal and advanced collection of Dr. Jim Watson of Scottsdale, Arizona. CONDITION: Fine. Barrel blue has largely faded to brown. Cylinder retains significant portions of factory blue with a largely legible scene. Strong case colors exhibited on the frame with some mild oxidation spots. Traces of silver retained in the protected areas of the trigger guard, the balance a mellow, golden patina. Back strap has a dark patina. Grips fit somewhat poorly with gaps and are possibly replacements. Overall fine condition with an attractive cream patina. Bore has strong, well defined rifling with some cleaned oxidation. Fine mechanics.
