A single-guard wire-bottom flat-top Adlake Reliable lantern with correct insert fount and No. 1 ratchet burner. "Belt. Ry" is embossed in the lid reflect, and serial No. "3992" is stamped in. The entire frame is painted silver with some rust showing through, and the base ring is bent. The clear CNX globe is embossed "The Belt RY of Chicago." There is normal evidence of RR use.
