An early bellbottom caboose marker made by the Railroad Signal Lamp & Lantern Co. (embossed in the brass cap). "NYLE&WRR" is embossed on the top shoulder, "RIGHT" also embossed opposite. The correct round fount and brass burner are intact, as well as a short heavy wire bail. The lamp has one red and two signal green lenses that look to be original to the unit. The mounting arm is missing. There is a brass tag affixed to the side of the chimney that has numerous patent dates listed. The unit shows light rust over black paint, mostly gone. There is a significant dent in the brass cap.
