A Railroad Signal Lamp & Lantern Co. brass top, bellbottom, double guard model with the correct bayonet base and glass fount with no. 1 twin-tube whale oil burner affixed. There is an 1875 pat date underside. The burner is missing one wick tube. "OCRR" is nicely embossed on the lid reflector. The chimney ratchets to clamp the globe. There is a small brass plate affixed to the base that reads "A. P. SARGENT." The frame has been cleaned and overcoated long ago. The globe is a real nice flashed red New England barrel with "O C R R" embossed in serif font and in above average relief. The globe shows a few fitter flakes and normal RR wear. This is a real nice unit.
