An early, loose globe, brass conductor's model made in Chicago by Cross, Dane & Westlake. The cage lifts off of the bottom frame by releasing two opposed compression springs. Likewise, the base detaches in the same manner exposing the oil fount with No. 1 "pick wick" lard tube affixed. The chimney also detaches in the same manner, allowing the lid to detach from the top globe cylinder. A couple of the vertical guard wires are loose at the top globe fitter. The frame cage is wire-tied and all joints are in good condition. The brass shows heavy tarnish and is otherwise in real good condition with no stress cracking noted. The clear globe appears to be original to this old frame and is engraved "SAMUEL PULLMAN" in serif font inside of a simple wreath. On the backside of the globe, there is an ornate bird engraved over a stars/stripes shield on a bed of flowers, very well done.

Condition: (Very Good).

Item Dimensions: 6" x 6" x 11 - 1/2".
