A tin-plated double-guard dead flame lantern with a removable globe, similar to a Thompson's patent lantern model. There is a bail saddle which extends from top to bottom, and is secured by a knurled brass screw in the dimpled chimney top. There is no fount. Vent filigree is very similar to a Thompson. This lantern frame is accompanied by an old tag that indicates it is U.S Patent 148964 granted on March 24th, 1874, called the "Thomas Langston Lantern." The clear glass globe has a top fitter ring and is not marked in any way. Overall condition is mint and unused, with some minor distress from long-term storage.

Condition: (Excellent).

Item Dimensions: 5 - 1/4" x 5 - 1/4" x 10".
