An early Thompson's patent model made by the Taylor Mfg. Co. of New Britain, CT. The bail saddle does not have the Thompson's patent stamp on the side. The securing screw is seated in a small dimple on top. "CONCORD R.R." is beautifully embossed on the lid, which looks to be nickel plated. The rest of the frame has a tight brown patina with surface etching. The plug-in glass fount assembly is correct for this model and has a no. 1 twin tube whale oil burner affixed. The 6" clear New England barrel globe is nicely embossed "C R R" in heavy relief and has two tight cracks, one in back and one on the right side, neither distracting.
Condition: (Very Good).
Item Dimensions: 6" x 6" x 12".
