An early, unguarded, fixed globe model, likely made by the New England Glass Co., ca. early 1860s. The clear globe is a straight cylinder, nicely engraved "C.T.Co." The tin chimney is fixed by old original plaster to the globe's top fitter, and is wrapped by steel wire on the outside for extra hold. There is star-diamond-star vent filigree characteristic of NEG models. The fixed base is attached via old original plaster to the globe's bottom fitter. The plug-in oil fount is brass with numerous stress cracks. A twin-tube burner is intact. This unit is complete with a standard tin bracelet. Metal pieces show light rust with deteriorated original japanning. This is a great, early New England railroad lantern.
Condition: (Good).
