A Parmelee & Bonnell model from the early 1870s. This frame style is unique to the Lake Shore and features a skirted, wire-tied, double guard cage with a bayonet base. The base has a few edge cracks and has a very nice and scarce hallmark underside which reads "PARMELEE & BONNELL BUFFALO NY." The lid is nicely embossed "L.S.& M.S.Ry." in serif font. The globe is a gorgeous flashed red with a no. 2 base and a ring at the top fitter. It's nicely embossed "LS&MS Ry" in serif font as well. Globes are unique to this frame and always a bit loose because the chimney is fixed in the lid reflector. The lantern has been cleaned competently and has been coated. If you're looking for something unique from the Lake Shore, this is it.
