A nice, early, 6" frame made in the New York Central pattern by the Railroad Signal Lamp & Lantern Co. in New York, but not hallmarked. The double-guard frame has a fixed base with correct plug-in fount and no. 1 "pick wick" lard tube affixed. The 6" globe is a stunning signal green example, nicely embossed "NYC&HRR" high on the globe. Color translucence is great. Lantern shows light surface rust over original patina and could use a competent cleaning. Frame is straight, tight, and dent free. A real nice example.
