A cast bronze ALCo diesel plate, Louisville & Nashville RR, ALCO model S-1. Very early bronze plate, 2nd diesel locomotive owned by the L&N. Construction number 69516, built Sept. 1941. Small ALCO “flying gear” and GE emblems in the lower-left and right corners of the plate. Plate has recent black-painted field, with natural bronze lettering and borders. Back of plate shows heavy tarnish.
