An attractive Cold War US Air Force uniform with excellent insignia attributed to Lieutenant General Ray B. Sitton, who began his career in 1942 when he entered the Enlisted Reserve, later being commissioned, earned his wings, and served as a pilot in the Pacific. He attended many schools after the war and again saw service in the Korean War, where he was assigned several command positions. He would also serve throughout the Vietnam War and then joined the Organization of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Washington, D.C., during the conflict. His many achievements include being a command pilot and a navigator flying more than 8,500 hours in 40 different types of aircraft. The uniform is quite striking and features beautiful bullion Lieutenant General Rank on the epaulettes, as well as bullion US insignia at the collar and stunning bullion command pilot wings. The ribbon bar is embroidered and features the General's WWII-era awards. The jacket is accompanied by a pair of trousers and 2 flight ace hats, including a visor and overseas hat with Lt. Gen. rank. The uniform exhibits scattered light blemishes but is very presentable and eye-catching. CONDITION: Very good.
