Circa 1907. A vintage game gun with 30" nitro proof compressed "ARCUS" steel barrels with ejectors and 3" chambers. Barrel rib is matted, concave, raised, and fit with locking extension and small round steel front bead sight. Rib reads "COGSWELL & HARRISONLTD", "THE AVANT TOUT - 141 NEW BOND ST. 226 STRAND. LONDON & 26 AVENUE DE L'OPERA , PARIS.". Barrel flats marked with "12 LC" in diamond, "NP", "NITRO PROOF", "1 1/2", and choke. Bottom of tubes read "TRADE MARK", "ARCUS", "COMPRESSED STEEL" and with serial number "40467". Chokes are Extra Full on left and Modified on right. The box lock action is non-auto safe and built with double triggers, top lever, safe slide with "SAFE" engraved. Action frame engraved with light scroll and with "COGSWELL & HARRISON". Double triggers with floral scroll trigger guard. Dark honey colored stock with checkered pistol grip and finished with dark rubber pad. Splinter snap forend with similar checkering and engraved pins and pull. Gun resides in its vintage leather case with paper case label and snap caps. CONDITION: Good. Barrels with some blemishes and freckles; barrels are loose on face. Bores are good. Action, triggers and ejectors operate well with snap caps. Restock is good with handling marks from use. Forend is good with evidence of prior repair.
