Round barrel with a single faceted section over breech is equipped with a vertically dovetailed bead front sight on raised base and a horizontally dovetailed 3 leaf rear sight, with 2 folding leaves and 1 standing leaf. Standing leaf is matted and marked for regulation at 100 yards, while folding leaves are regulated for 150 and 200 yards; silver express lines. Signed "Alexr Henry, Edinburgh & London" behind rear sight, with offset Birmingham proofs for .360 Express. Underside with matching serial number and "AH" for Alexander Henry. Walnut forearm with point pattern checkering is retained by a single barrel key feeding through an escutcheon and has the distinct Henry scalloped lip. Small frame case colored action with light English style acanthus scroll and lined borders, back action peninsula lock signed "Alexr Henry", non-rebounding serpentine hammer with tall cock, and stalking safety. Long tang trigger guard with serial number and three unidentified characters that look perhaps Middle Eastern in origin. Pistol grip stock with point pattern checkering about the wrist, engraved steel grip cap, and a smooth steel buttplate. CONDITION: Barrel retains the vast majority of the bluing with some minor handling marks from the field throughout; faceted area over chamber appears to have been touched up with cold blue. Forearm has numerous handling marks and impressions from use, one heavier mar at left side just behind scalloped lip. Action with good case colors, particularly in protected areas and on peninsula lock. Stock is very good with typical random handling marks. Checkering is razor sharp and recut. Buttplate reblued. Mechanically fine, bore has strong rifling and mild frosting throughout. A light, handy little rifle, scarce with such as small frame.
