Extremely high condition Gewehr 88 Sporter made by V. Christian Schilling in Suhl, Prussia, circa 1910. 24" sporter weight blued octagon-to-round Krupp steel barrel with fully matted raised sighting rib and ramped front sight with 2-leaf folding rear sight. Case-hardened receiver with matching spoon handle bolt and double set triggers. Plain checkered walnut stock with case-hardened steel buttplate and grip cap. Comes with leather ammo pouch and 10 rounds of RWS ammunition. CONDITION: 98% bright barrel blue with edge wear and some light freckling with 98% remaining action finish with bolt having slight handling wear and discoloration. 95% hand-rubbed finish. Small handling marks and dings overall. Sharp checkering with a ding in the right side of the grip. Bright bore with visible rifling and crisp mechanics. Colors and stock have possibly been enhanced.
