25" chopper lump barrels with brass bead on narrow tapered matted Churchill rib with "XXV" over breech. Barrels engraved with "E.J. Church (Gunmakers) Ltd." and Pall Mall address. Lined engraving over breech. Underside of tubes with serial number engraved, importer mark on rib behind forearm lug, barrel flats with modern Birmingham nitro proofs for 12 gauge 2 - 3/4" chambers, and a nominal .729 IBD. Splinter forearm with Anson style plunger release with point pattern checkering; exterior of iron engraved with English style acanthus scroll. Forearm engraved with serial number on interior. Boxlock action with Regal quality scalloped rear, "E.J. Churchill" engraved in ribbons on both sides of action, with balance of engraving English style rose and scroll. Serial number on action flats with Birmingham proof. Non-automatic safety with "SAFE" inlaid in gold ahead of slide. Trigger guard with long tang is engraved en suite and protects double triggers. English straight grip stock with point pattern checkering at wrist. Straight grain stock with checkered butt cast on for a right hand shooter, with a blank brass plate at toe line. Housed in a canvas-wrapped case with forest green lining, Churchill trade label in lid, and accessories comprising pair snap caps, 2 part cleaning rod, shotgun cleaning patches, and ends for cleaning rod. Trade label in lid. CONDITION: Very good as reconditioned. Barrels retain virtually all of good quality reblack with a few very minor marks from handling and operation. One "X" in "XXV" is missing gold and infilled with silver solder, 2 drain holes covered with silver solder, rib relaid. Forearm is very good with a few minor marks from handling and operation, with checkering recut. Action with nearly all of the reapplied blued and case colors, with some superficial handling marks throughout and some silvering at edges. Refreshed stock is very good with a few minor marks from handling and operation throughout and one very small very tight crack behind the tang. Checkering is sharp. Ejectors are in time and bores are very good. Case is very good with age related distress to exterior, accessories very good. Lining has a few rubs through to wood.
