Circa 1982. Amazingly well-crafted gun with 27" Italian demi-bloc nitro-proofed barrels with a low profile finely matted solid rib with steel bead front sight. Right side of top barrel with "VACUUM ARC REMELTING STEEL", left with "ARMI FABBRI BRESCIA ITALY". Modern Italian nitro proofs for 12 gauge, 2 - 3/4" chambers, nominal 18.4 IBD and AI date code. Chokes are Modified in top barrel and Improved Cylinder in bottom. The bolster and breech are lightly decorated with florals and dots. Forearm has an Anson plunger release with the iconic Fabbri cross escutcheon, engraved in semi-relief with florals throughout, including exterior iron. Forearm is checkering in a point and wave pattern that wraps about the escutcheon. Interior of iron with matching serial number stamped. Sidelock action is extensively engraved in semi-relief style en suite with the escutcheon, with flowing florals on a stippled ground, with interspersed lilies and bouquets of roses. A sphinx sits behind cocking indicators, spewing the scroll out of his open mouth. Bottom of action has a pair of cherubim around a bouquet of roses, with scroll en suite. Signed "Inc Badillini G.F." to the right of the trigger guard. Ivo Fabbri legend on bottom of action. Non-automatic safety. Fabbri inertia driven single trigger protected by a trigger guard with engraving en suite which extends to tang, including an engraved serial number. English-style straight stock of a nicely figured and smoky walnut is checkered about the wrist in a point pattern, with an attractive arrowhead exclusion at tang and a fully checkered walnut butt. Housed in a leather-wrapped Nizzoli case with Fabbri trade label in lid. CONDITION: Excellent, showing slight evidence of use. Barrels retain virtually all of their factory black, with some distension about proofs from application of stamp, and some light discoloration from age and use. Stock is excellent with sharp checkering, no cracks or chips, and mild handling marks. Receiver is excellent, engraving is crisp and well cut, befitting a master like Badillini. Mechanically fine, bores are excellent, bright and shiny, ejectors are strong and in time. Case is excellent with some minor marks to exterior. This is an great example of one of the finest shotguns money can buy.
