28" dovetail lump barrels are fit with an oversized white plastic fore and mid beads on a tapering, solid, concave game rib with machine cut matting. Empty lozenge with "W.W. GREENER MAKER 29 PALL MALL LONDON S.W. WORKS St MARYS SQUARE BIRMINGHAM" address. Breeches are dressed with bands of floral decoration, with a sprig on the rib. Thin rib extension with slot for Greener crossbolt. Underside of barrels with matching serial number, Greener elephant trademark, and Birmingham view proofs. Barrel flats with British nitro proofs for a 20 gauge with choked barrels. Splinter forearm with horn tip inset is fit with a Deely style latch release, case colored and lightly engraved with shaded acanthus scroll. Interior of iron with matching serial number. Action flats with serial number and Birmingham view proof. Action is case colored and engraved with shaded acanthus scroll and strapwork. Recoil shields fit with a Greener crossbolt safety. Double triggers are protected by a trigger guard with a long tang engraved en suite and with serial number. Stock of a nice, smokey figured walnut in the English straight grip style has sidepanels and teardrops behind the action, checkered about the wrist and at the butt in a point pattern, and fit with a brass oval on toe line engraved "HT". CONDITION: Very good as restored. Barrels retain the vast majority of a good quality reblacking, with some minor marks from handling and the field, with superficial scratches throughout. Stocks are very good, revarnished and components recolored, with some handling marks and field marks en suite; a screw has been affixed to left teardrop and a thin rectangle splice in right side of wrist have been installed to address a crack and a missing sliver. Action is very good with most of the reapplied case colors, engraving and legends somewhat softened. Mechanically fine, bores are excellent.
