Made by William W. Kaye of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, circa 1860. 28" Damascus steel barrels with smooth concave rib marked "Wm. W. KAYE / 335 Nth 3d St Phd WARRANTED LAMINATED STEEL / Made for C. BONTEMPS" with bead front sight and hook breech. Border engraved percussion locks marked "WILLm W. KAYE" with double trigger control. Figured 1-piece checkered walnut stock with engraved steel furniture. Comes with brass tipped hardwood ramrod. CONDITION: Overall good, with metal turning a silvery patina. Wood has reapplied piano type-high lustre finish with sharp checkering with usage dings and marks. No visible restoration. Dark bores with crisp mechanics.
