Designed to fit a 3/4” wide belt, this early 1940s sterling silver filigreed buckle was custom made for Ed Bohlin with his initials “EB” and eventually passed down to his daughter and only child, Lillian Pinkerton. In the 1980s, Bill Reynolds acquired the buckle from Lillian and in 1993 acquired the entire Edward H. Bohlin Company in partnership with his father, John Reynolds who was past president of CBS Television Network. This exact buckle is pictured in the 1941 Bohlin catalog on Pg 240 as "Pat 582" with the two rubies added later. The buckle has the early "Bohlinmade / Hollywood / Calif." football shaped maker-mark but the original keeper and tip were lost and subsequently re-created by the Bohlin Company in the 1990s using the original dies. Mounted on a 30" (to center hole) Seidel's Saddlery, Cody, Wyoming exotic belt with tooled ends.
