Measuring 2” x 3”, this rare, double maker-marked "Prosser Martin, Del Rio, Tex and McCabe" (Los Angeles) rodeo buckle was presented to the winner of the bull riding competition at the Craig-Selma (Selma, Alabama) Championship Rodeo in 1958. The sterling buckle features exceptionally fine deep floral engraving mounted with a strikingly detailed heavy gauge, 3-dimensional 10K gold bull and rider. Prosser Martin catalogs from this time period picture a wide selection of buckles and conchos made by McCabe and marketed through the Del Rio, Texas saddlery. Fine condition, circa 1958.
