Lot consists of: (A) Pre-Civil War M1840 "Wristbreaker" cavalry saber marked "AMES MFG. Co. / CHICOPEE / MASS. / 1853" (part of the first line obscured) and "US / A.D.K." Standard configuration with bright blade that exhibits freckling and scattered dark spots. 3-band cavalry guard with nice patina. Leather wrapped wood grip with a few cracks and tight strands of twisted brass wire. Complete with finished scabbard that features scattered blemishes. CONDITION: Good. (B) Civil War M1860 cavalry saber marked "AMES MFG. Co. / CHICOPEE / MASS." in scroll and "US / K.C. / 1865". Standard configuration with nice patina to blade and light edge wear. 3-band cavalry guard with nice patina. Leather wrapped wood grip with a few cracks and tight strands of twisted brass wire. Complete with scabbard that features scattered dents and brown patina. CONDITION: Good. (C) Indian Wars M1872 cavalry saber with no visible markings. Standard configuration with blade decorated with patriotic and foliate motifs for half its length. 3-band cavalry guard is decorated and features a nice patina. Shagreen-wrapped wood grip with loose strands of twisted brass wire. Hilt wobbles when handled. Complete with metal scabbard that features areas of pitting. CONDITION: Good.
