Regal in stature, with lavish, very intricate and complex Maguey cactus fiber piteado stitching, this regal Vaquero saddle rig made in Puebla, Mexico is stamped on the inside of the exposed rawhide cantle/seat with the Talabarteria (saddlery) name and model, including the actual maker "RUBEN SANTOS BURGOA." It features a lovely repoussé “dinner plate” style silver Guadalajara horn with repoussé imagery, including horseheads and a centaur. Matching silver pommels and cantle, inlaid cinch rings and stirrups, plus multiple silver conchos adornments. The lavish saddle set includes a scabbard with a fancy silver inlaid eagle head sword; fine leather chaps with piteado belt, billet and trim; red, black and white cinch affixed to inlaid cinch rings; saddle bags and saddle blanket. Outstanding condition, circa 1950s.
