This remarkable and dramatic one-of-a kind conversation piece was the result of an extended collaboration fueled by historical admiration between a lifelong passionate Southern California Bohlin collector and Dave Marold, President of the Bohlin Company for the past quarter century. The collector’s vision was a bolo that embodies the most consequential sterling and gold imagery from the “Big Saddle” that took Ed 14 years to complete and is now permanently on display at the Autry Museum in Los Angeles. The focal point of the bolo is the bold and stately three-dimensional Indian Head Chief that replicates the horn on Ed’s “Big Saddle”, lovingly and intricately detailed in rose gold with yellow gold and silver accents. The bolo even has the initials "EHB" on the very back executed in gold using the exact same style lettering that Ed used on his saddle. Rather than using generic bolo tips for the ends, Marold has taken Ed’s breathtaking multi-figural tapaderos and actually reduced and reproduced all the animals in gold miniature sizes while not sacrificing detail. Even the bald eagle resting atop the stacked "EHB" lettering has been included on the mini taps for accuracy and authenticity. A special and unique piece for that most discriminating Bohlin or bolo collector.
