Lot consists of: (A) Civil War M1840 NCO sword in standard configuration marked "COLLINS & CO. / HARTFORD / CONN.". Dated "1861" on reverse ricasso. Collins only made a total of 548 of these swords, Thillmann considers them “extremely scarce”. Nice patina throughout, leather scabbard exhibits cracking with 1 break and mounts with pleasing patina. CONDITION: NRA Good. (B) Civil War M1840 musician sword in standard configuration marked "Made by / AMES MFG. CO. / CHICOPEE" in scroll and "US / TKL / 1864". Bright blade with nice patina to hilt. Complete with scabbard with tight body and nice patina to mounts. CONDITION: NRA Good.
