14k yellow gold private label William B. Miller, Sacramento, California, gold quartz hunting cased pocket watch by Illinois Watch Company, c. 1885. Movement No. 731555, Grade 5, Model 2, Size 18, 15 Jewels. Dial and movement marked "Wm. B. Miller, Sacramento, Cal." Beautifully decorated case with hand-engraved body and central framed monogrammed to front cover. Back cover with 8 individual pieces of inlaid gold quartz, alternating rose quartz with gold and white quartz with gold and silver. Case marked "14K." Includes a very ornate 14k gold (untested/unmarked) pocket watch chain set with 14 individual pieces of inlaid gold quartz, measuring 19-1/2" in length with 2 additional gold quartz fobs. First fob is a gold cigarillo cutter with inlaid gold quartz and blue lapis. The second fob is a 5-pointed Grand Army of the Republic star with gold quartz inlays, blue enameling and a gold California grizzly bear. Combined gross weight of watch, chain and fobs is 271.8 g.
