Made by Hunter Arms Company in 1939, as one of 295 Hunter Specials made in .410. 26" blued fluid steel barrels with raised high matted rib, extractors, and bead front sight. Barrels are choked Full and Full with 3" chambers. Case hardened finished boxlock action with "HUNTER SPECIAL" model markings, automatic safety, double triggers, and blued trigger guard. Checkered walnut pistol grip stock with hard rubber buttplate and matching checkered splinter forearm with friction release. CONDITION: Overall, 90% original factory barrel finish with areas worn to plum brown from handling. 80% vivid case colors with sharp markings. Good wood with 80% remaining original finish with some scrapes and scratches from usage. Good mechanics with mirror bores. Tight lock up and lever way to right with fantastic screws. A very desirable shotgun.
