Made at Springfield Arsenal circa 1927. The blued 24 - 1/2" arsenal barrel has a pinned banded front sight and no rear sight. The barrel is marked "SA / (Flaming Bomb) / 2-27" and "LONG RIFLE CARTRIDGE ONLY". Standard matching polished electropenciled undrilled bolt action with standard markings including receiver marked "U.S. / SPRINGFIELD / ARMORY / M1922MI / CAL 22" with blued, unmarked, unswept bolt and blued milled trigger guard with correct 5-round detachable magazine. Standard "B" type finger groove walnut stock with correct hardware with leather military sling. CONDITION: 90% original arsenal finish with areas worn to a silvery patina. Action worn to an honest patina with carry and operating wear. Stock has cleaned surfaces with dings and marks. Good bore and good mechanics.
