Made at Winchester Repeating Arms Company in 1951. 24" round blued standard weight Winchester Proof Steel barrel with correct hooded gold bead ramp front sight, plugged and removed rear sight, and Winchester address and "MODEL-70-270 WIN-" barrel markings. Standard matted finished action with standard markings, matching electropencilled solid handle bolt, and period Lyman 48 rear peep sight. Checkered walnut Super Grade style stock with straight comb, early style cheekpiece, blued checkered steel buttplate, "-SUPER GRADE-" marked blued detachable floorplate, black bakelite forend cap, and Winchester logo plastic grip cap. Comes with correct sling swivels and a leather sling. CONDITION: 90% original factory finish with areas worn to a silvery patina. Action worn to an honest patina with carry and operating wear. Bolt handle is starting to silver. The stock has 80% original varnish with dings and marks. Good bore and good mechanics.
