Manufactured during the first year of production in 1850. 7 - 1/2" octagon barrel with brass pin front sight and 1-line New-York address. Barrel is of the later style with wedge screw above rather than below, as usually seen on guns beginning around serial number 1200. Cylinder roll marked with partially legible naval engagement scene. Silver-plated brass grip straps with iconic early squareback trigger guard. Smooth 1-piece oiled finished walnut grips. CONDITION: Good. Steel components exhibit an even gunmetal gray patina throughout with some wear and mild freckling. Grip straps retain the vast majority of their attractively toned plating, thinning to brass in some areas. Grips are very good with significant portions of original finish and scattered impressions. Bore is strong with some areas of black powder abrasion. Mechanically fine. Matching numbers observed on barrel lug, wedge, loading lever, cylinder, arbor, frame, and grip straps.
