Circa 1840s Gold Rush-era guardless Bowie Knife with 10" clip point blade. Pressed horn handle with shell motif pommel retained by 5 small copper rivets on each side. Left side of blade is maker stamped with crown and "V R" proof over "G. BEARDSHAW / CAST STEEL.". PROVENANCE: Richard "Dick" Burdick collection. CONDITION: Very good overall with no evidence of sharpening to blade. Some light mossing, mostly toward tip and spine.
