Blade measures approximately 53.3cm from tip of boshi to munemachi. Classic shinogi zukuri form with iori mune. Signature reads "Settsu no Kami Minamoto Tadayuki". See TAD-335 in Hawley, who attributes the smith to Settsu circa 1684, 2nd generation, and notes "Sharp"; no papers. Blade is out of polish and hada is not visible, while hamon appears to be a rolling notare. Kurijiri nakagojiri with sujikai yasurime and a single mekugi-ana. Copper habaki with soft crosshatch incising. In an interesting set of aikuchi mounts designed to look like a walking stick, complete with faux bark. CONDITION: Blade is out of polish with areas of superficial scratches throughout. Some flea bites along cutting edge, very tip of boshi is damaged. Some kizu, most noted on the right side of the shinogi ji; a spot of shintetsu noted on left sid of shinogi ji. Mounts have handling marks throughout, faux bark is peeling, and the read of the tsuka is missing a large piece, exposing back of nakago. An interesting example.
