These rifles were signed for the CISM 300 meter Standard matches (CISM is the International Military Sports Council). Hammer forged barrel characteristic of Steyr with GSI import on left side of barrel, caliber designation, right side of shank with proofs, including nitro. Proofs repeated on receiver, which also has serial number. Bolt with Steyr logo and "SBS 96". In the lightened ergonomic stock for a right handed shooter with black painted wood, free floating barrel, and equipped with a multi-port compensator. Clearly set up for competition, as the adjustable trigger currently breaks just shy of 1#. CONDITION: Excellent, and showing only light evidence of use, mostly lifting of the black paint, and some mars to forearm. Barrel and receiver are excellent with some minor superficial handling marks; appropriate distension still visible about the proofs. Mechanically fine, bore is excellent with strong rifling. These rifles are known to be exceptionally accurate, and the chambering makes this an ideal target rifle.
