Made by Winchester Repeating Arms in 1952 with standard weight blued 24" Winchester Proof Steel barrel, hooded bead front sight on island with stippled ramp, U-notch rear sight dovetailed on barrel boss, and later acanthus scroll engraving at the barrel shank. Leupold 1-piece base with XV-III 4.5-15x40mm scope. Further floral engraving on bottom metal and trigger, with floral device on trigger. Replaced checkered steel buttplate. CONDITION: Very good. Barrel has been reblued after the engraving was completed, some pluming notable at the shank. Typical handling marks throughout from field and range use. Stock is excellent with repaired inset at heel, probably from restocking a widow's peak plate; some handling marks throughout. Possibly a professional restock. Mechanically fine, bore is excellent with strong rifling, glass is clear.
