Interesting 18th-century assemblage of Dutch Revolutionary War era musket parts stocked in ash or similar hardwood by an unknown, possibly American, gunsmith. 38" round .75 caliber smoothbore barrel with brass blade front sight and stamped "FS" at breech. Dutch-style musket flint lock with single trigger control. Full length stock with incise carving, horn nosepiece, and ill-fitting brass buttplate borrowed from a Dutch style musket. CONDITION: Good with light pitting on metal; finish is turning a plum patina. Brass has old golden-yellow patina. Wood has various age cracks, usage marks, and dings with no visible restoration or repairs. Rear sling swivel missing pin, fore retained by a nail. Dark pitted bore with functional mechanics.
