A large intricately hand-carved antique European wood plaque with mounted vampire killing stakes, and figure with lion head hammer. This beautiful wood plaque is masterfully decorated with tracery carved in high relief figure lion heads, knight shield with sword, holly berries and a heart motif. Edges of the panel are carved with scroll and tulip flower décor. CONDITION: Age and use-related wood losses are present. Some chipping, splitting, wood scuffing and wormholes are visible. Otherwise, this piece is a great religious exemplar and displays quite beautifully.
Condition: (Very Good - Excellent).
