Shipped from the Colt Factory on December 8th, 1879, in a shipment of 6 guns of the same type to Schoverling, Daly, & Gales in New York, New York. Current configuration is barrel "Not Listed" (for the period, this is 7 - 1/2"), nickel finish, "Not Listed" stocks (for the period, this is walnut), and barrel chambered in .44/40 WCF, which is confirmed in the factory letter. Left side of barrel is marked with desirable original etched panel marking. CONDITION: Excellent+ for its age, retaining approximately 90% of the original nickel finish with minor flaking and scattered light wear throughout. Grips are good, with most of the finish remaining on left grip panel and a minority remaining on right panel. Left grip panel has a small chip near the frame. Action is tight and crisp. Bore is frosted with well-defined rifling.
