Shipped on September 2nd, 1891, to Babcock & Miles in a shipment of 6 guns of the same type. Factory letter confirms configuration as a 4 - 3/4" barrel chambered in .44/40 WCF with blue finish and grips as "Not Listed". In the "Remarks" section of the letter, it is noted that Babcock & Miles had 2 locations, one in Billings, Montana, and one in Red Lodge, Montana. Matching serial numbers observed on frame, trigger guard, and butt. CONDITION: Excellent with a vast majority of the original bluing remaining with minor freckling and handling marks throughout. Frame case colors have mostly grayed with original colors visible in well-protected areas. Grips are sun faded with no major signs of distress. Action is tight and crisp with all 4 hammer stops. Bore is lightly frosted with sharp rifling.
