Shipped from the factory on November 24th, 1891, with features including nickel finish, and 4 - 3/4" barrel chambered in .41 Long Colt, to Charles Hummel & Son in San Antonio, Texas, in a shipment of 2 guns of the same type in the shipment. Included Factory Letter listing stocks as "Not Listed", which typically means whatever was standard for the period, which would have been gutta percha. Currently fit with attractive 2-piece carved Mother of Pearl grips featuring a scarcely seen full bodied running steer on the right grip panel. Electropenciled on the backstrap with presentation that reads "Frank Carson Texas 18(obfuscated)". CONDITION: Excellent for its age, retaining a significant majority of the original flaking nickel plating, with sharp markings and scattered light freckling. Backstrap has sustained more wear to the finish than the rest of the gun, with nickel missing in scattered areas. Grips are in matching condition, with minor chip to the top of the right grip panel and fit shy to the grip frame. Action is tight and crisp with all 4 hammer clicks. Bore is bright with well defined rifling.
