MFG. 1915. Matching numbers, blue finish with case color frame and hammer, Colt gutta percha grips with matching number etched inside. The barrel has proper two line address, two line patent dates on left side of frame with pony, VP proof on front left trigger guard, "COLT FRONTIER SIX SHOOTER 44-40" on left side of barrel. All the screws are high polish blue. Correct type cylinder with removeable bushing. CONDITION: Excellent. Frame retains approximately 80% bright colors just starting to blend patina on top of frame and left recoil shield. Hammer shows brilliant case color. Blue finish is almost completely intact with some patina on back strap mixing with the blue, 98% on trigger guard and front strap, just a couple of handling marks on the barrel. Cylinder has a drag line, along with few light handling marks. Cylinder face shows no real signs of any face burn and is still blue. Screws appear untouched with almost all the fire blue. This remarkable condition revolver does not appear to have seen any real use nor any signs of holster wear. The bore is bright and the action is like new. Would be hard to improve on the condition.
