The Colt Factory Archive letter confirms the configuration of this gun. It was shipped to Iver Johnson Sporting Goods Company in Boston, Massachusetts on December 28th, 1921, in a shipment of 15 guns. This gun has a two line address and patent dates on the left side of the slide, with a Rampant Colt logo at the rear. There is a two line model and caliber designation on the right side of the slide. VP proof on the left front trigger bow. There is a "48" on the right front trigger bow. It has checkered hard rubber factory grips. It comes in a purple box with the original paperwork. CONDITION: This gun retains virtually all of the original factory applied blue finish. Bright and shiny bore with sharp lands and grooves. The grips have no chips or cracks in them. The box shows some storage wear.
