The Colt Factory Archive letter confirms the configuration of this gun. It was shipped to Lou J. Eppinger in Detroit, Michigan on September 3, 1930 in a shipment of one gun. Lou J. Eppinger started the Dardevle fishing lure company in 1906, which is still in business and operated by family members. This gun has a two line address and patent dates on the left side of the slide with a Rampant Colt Logo at the rear. There is a two line model and caliber designation on the right side of the slide. VP proof on the left front trigger bow. There is a 51 on the right front trigger bow. It has aftermarket two piece Mother of Pearl grips. It comes in a black leather covered box with a blue interior. It has Colt stamped on the inside of the lid. CONDITION: This gun retains virtually all of the original factory applied nickel finish. Bright and shiny bore with sharp lands and grooves. The grips have no chips or cracks in them. The box shows some storage wear.
