Manufactured by Nagoya from 1943 to 1945 for elite paratroop units with a central takedown pin allowing the rifle to be broken down into 2 halves. Full blued finish. Standard length barrel with protected blade front sight and anti-aircraft ladder rear. Receiver marked on the top with a ground chrysanthemum and Type 2 designation. Full length military wood stock with standard mounts. Matching numbers observed on receiver and nose cap. Matching assembly numbers on receiver and takedown mechanism components. Bolt is a replacement. CONDITION: Very good overall. Rifle retains the majority of its arsenal blue, some areas starting to fade to patina. Stock has been lightly sanded and reoiled. Good, lightly frosted bore. Fine mechanics.
